On 10-01-2011 Germany will introduce its new revised drinking water regulations. The main topic: harsh limits for legionella bacteria in drinking water systems. Starting with the first of November there will be a harsh limit of 100 colony forming units (CFU) in 100 milliliters drinking water. Affected by this new regulation are especially large objects, which have more than 3 liters of water between the large boilers and the fresh water taps in their hot water piping system or more than 400 Liters of total water content.  Hospitals and public swimming pools have already being tested in Germany for legionella bacteria for quite some time – but beginning November over 2 million multifamily homes in Germany will be on the test bench as well. Owners of objects need to register with their respective health office if the above mentioned criteria applies to them. It is recommended to register as [… according to the amendment, it is punishable if tenants are supplied with attempted water. Violations can result in up to two years imprisonment or a fine].1)

InnoWaFRESH! Systems offer an additional protection against legionella and are available as point-of-use systems to be connected directly at the water tap or as point-of-entry systems to be connected directly after the general house water connection.
